Vincent Lamar Carter Jr. ( January 26, 1977 - ), better known as Vince Carter, is a former professional basketball player from Daytona Beach, Florida,United States. He is widely regarded as the greatest dunker in NBA history.
His unparalleled jumping ability has made him a worthy successor to Jordan, [1] and he was one of the most popular slam dunkers in the league, earning him nicknames such as “Vinsanity,” “Air Canada,” and “Half Man, Half Amazing. Amazing,” among other nicknames. He has also been described by numerous players, journalists, and NBA officials as the greatest dunker of all time [2][3][4][5].
While Carter became a star player in the first half of his career with his physicality and creative and spectacular dunks, he had a very long career as he developed his shooting ability and transformed into a highly utility role player towards the latter part of his career. Carter is the only player in the NBA to have played through four eras in the 1990s, 2000s, 2010s, and 2020s, [6] and his 22-year NBA career is the longest of his career and third all-time in total games played. He was an ace with the Toronto Raptors and New Jersey Nets in the previous years of his career, and later in his career he became a role player and played for many teams.
